This morning during rounds, the neuro intensivist (brain specialist of ICU) was concerned that Christy wasn't more awake. On her assessment she was extending her extremities and still having a lot of facial and body twitching. She only flexed the right arm once and left arm once since yesterday. The brain specialist feels that with the good results of the original EEG, Christy should be doing more flexion and reaching for things..... but we don't have any more information at this time. Christy is having another EEG right now and will probably have a MRI today to gain more information about the brain stem. We need to check out a specific part of the brain stem on MRI that is crucial for maintaining the state of consciousness. The only thing that really matters is that Christy start waking up. Let's all imagine her today moving her arms and opening her eyes. Everyone send their love and positive thoughts to her long distance. That's what Christy needs right now! I will update information on tests as soon as we know the results.

  6. Gabby... thank you for bringing the hospital closer to our homes. Your explanations to the situation make it much easier to understand, and that is definately appreciated by all. Like Dr. Yu, you have a big, big brain and a big,big heart for Christy and we're grateful to have you in our lives. We'll try to visit Chris at the hospital before the weekend, but until then see you soon! Love you girl...Trish&Jay
